I'm going crazy trying to find a cute little Thanksgiving skit. Last year the 2 third grades each did a skit. The teacher that I replaced didn't leave her skit behind. (She wasn't happy when she left)
Any one have something I've spent hours on line looking.
I do the ABC's of Thanksgiving it is a reader's theater and I have done it for three years in the third grade and they love to do it everytime. Here is the link to find it.
that is exactly the type I'm looking for--as a matter of fact that's the one I've used in second grade for many years. I wanted to avoid using it again this year becasue most of my parent saw it last year. (I just moved up) . The kids do like it. sooo the parents may have to suffer with it another year. There's a cute Thanskgiving/football song that the music teadher does that we tack on too. that's a hoot!
Pehaps I'll try to use different props. Anything special that you do?
Here's a Readers' Theater about different Thanksgiving foods that each thinks is the star of the meal. In the end they learn the necessity of cooperation for the meal to be a success. Cute.
I have each one make a picture from the internet that matches their letter. then they color it and mount in on construction paper and then they write the letter and the sentence that goes with it. They then glue their lines on the back of the paper for them to read. You could have them do the sam concept but change the words to it to. Have them come up with words for each one.
I teach fourth grade, and altough some of the words are a little hard, I am using this to replace the basal reader. I wrote a vocab test, did writing activities and we are discussing how a bill becomes a law. It hits A LOT of stuff!
for the suggestions. i will probably end up doing the alphabet one. I was trying to avoid that since I did it last year in 2nd grade and now I have many of the same students/parents in third. The kids want to do it so I guess that's what I'll do.
