I am in desperate need of pocket charts, but am on a tight budget. I just went to the Target in my area and no teacher supplies in the dollar section yet. So...if you have been to a Target in your area and they are carrying teacher supplies in the dollar section, could you post what area it was in including, city and state, and what you found that might be helpful to other fellow teachers. Thanks so much.
I am in Kansas- I checked the Target in Overland Park at 119th and I-35 and they did not have any teacher supplies in yet.
Our target doesn't put the school things in the dollar section until July 4th things are done. I have learned not to get too anxious at this time and remember that I will be there on July 5th! I need to remember to just buy what I need and NO MORE!!! even if it is just one dollar!
I live in Florida and I remember the teacher supplies came in after the 4th. I checked my receipts from last year and found one from Target dated July 6th with several teacher items from the dollar section. We'll have to be patient and wait another week and a half.
Just went to Target this morning, they are starting to put some teacher stuff out. They had the $2.50 Table Pocket Charts and a small one to hang up for $1. Also, some book bins and stickers/nameplates. I am in central Minnesota.
I live in Wichita, KS. The Target I go to all the time does not have anything, but I was on the other side of town today and stopped in one. They had a few things; teacher grade book, plan book, notepads, stickers, a few games. I think that was about it. Speaking of pocket charts, I am a new teacher looking for several and I really do not want to spend 15-20 dollards on them. Does Target have pocket charts that will work for a classroom calendar?
No school stuff yet in the Midlands of South Carolina. Probably after the 4th of July. That is when all stores in this area but out their back to school stuff because we go back to school in August. I am waiting anxiously!!!!
I am not sure as to the pocket charts (I had an anxious DS with me ), but they had a ton of teacher stuff out. My temptation? BOOK BINS!! They were $2.50 and I didn't notice them until I was leaving and then I just wasn't up for going through the checkout again. I limited myself to bookmarks and some soft foam blank little cubes.
Despite the tornado that hit yesterday, I managed to get to Target to snatch the good deals. My store (Trumbull really) has the pocket charts, signs, name tags, desktop charts, desk caddy, pencils, etc. It was loaded. But the pocket charts were on the very bottom underneath some other junk so I did almost miss them. I spotted them the second time I looked.
If Target gets in the same pocket charts that they've had in the past, I'd say probably not. They're kind of long and narrow, so great for CAFE boards, spelling lists, schedules, etc. I was at our local teacher supply store (The Supply Closet, but Mardel has them too) and they had a vinyl cling calendar for around $6. I'm really thinking about purchasing it because I'm sick of dropping my magnetic numbers behind bookshelves! It's really no frills, but is an awesome price.
