What are his interests? What are kind of money do you want to spend?
Music (CDs, MP3 player, ipod, personal CD player)
Does he have a driver's license and/or car?
Does he like clothes?
Is he involved in any sports or other activities?
Jewelry - Does he wear an earring or necklace?
Cologne or aftershave - Does he use these?

Gift cards

Once my nephew turned 15 he was pretty much impossible to buy for. After talking to him I began giving him gift cards to a music store or department store so that he could pick out items that he really wanted or needed. He's now 17 and this is still our arrangement. He loves being able to choose items on his own.

gift cards are the way to go. I would put something fun or kidlike just for the spirit of Christmas and something practical socks or something. Ask where he likes to shop. Old Navy is a winner for most teenagers boy or girl.

I would say cold cash!! He can go get what he wants. I have found with my kids that when they get gift cards to one particular store it can be hard to find something for the amount. After Christmas the racks are empty also and sizes are limited. You could give it to him before Christmas. Maybe he would like that better. Then he can put it under the tree from you.

is what my boys ask for. They are both in high school. Also, Mcdonalds gift cards, best buy, blockbuster or movie theater gift cards. I have also given gas gift cards to teens that are driving and must fill up mom/dad's vehicle once in a while. Hope this helps.

Give him moo-lah! Don't sweat the details. He'll love cash. It is always appropriate. One size fits all. Looks good with everything.

Christmas ideas

My almost 16 year old son is a gamer and loves Playstation games and computer games. I also got him a new jacket, and new headphones for his cd player. He's also a bookworm, so a giftcard to Barnes and Noble always goes over well.

Does he play computer games? Does he have a computer? If so, get him a new video card. He'd love it.

Or, a computer game.

Or, tell him you'l pay his car insurance for 6 months.

Money Tree

I was always telling my oldest son that money doesn't grow on tree, but for Christmas when he was 16 I made him a money tree. I bought a miniature Christmas tree and attached various money amounts to the branches. Of course I added a strand of clear lights and a few other ornaments of things he liked (football, Nascar, etc.) He really liked it!
