**Money Rap
A penny's worth one cent (clap hands)
A nickel's worth five cents (pat legs)
A dime's worth ten cents (snap fingers)
A quarter's twenty-five (stamp foot)
How many cents do I have on this try?
I introduce just the rhyme. Then, I introduce just the motion that I want them (pennies first) to learn for adding those coins in their heads. We stand up at calendar time (I usually do some kind of stand up and stretch or act out something because it is so long on the carpet). I teach clap hands first and then LATER add snap
AND LATER LATER....pat legs...etc....

( This is the first money rap I teach. It seems to be the easiest for them and provides the inital concept of money value.)
