Definitely Casual! But on a side note, on our campus, all kinder teachers always wear pink on the first day of school. We had an administrator who was into "color therapy" and she said wearing pink conveys compassion and an open heart. When people are wearing pink, whether they are male or female, they appear approachable and capable of loving others. This helps ease anxiety for all those liitle ones the first day of school!
Probably capri's with a nice shirt. Definitely comfy shoes! After all summer of lounging my feet always suffer the first week!
Interesting about the pink color... is that any shade??
Probably dressy shorts (dress capris) and a nice blouse. I wear flat shoes on the first day. I try not to wear skirts since I usually have to hold down a bunch of criers or sit on the floor.
I always look forward to getting my first day of school outfit. I always get a nice flowing dress, that is comfortable and nice. I am sure if you wear pants/capris you will be fine as long as you dress it up. First impressions are lasting
I usually wear a skirt the first day - not real dressy - but not capris the first day, I agree about first impressions and all - I never wear one so short that I can't sit on the floor with them comfortably - or that I can't get up gracefully
I would wear a dress, not a fancy one just casual! I think meeting parents you need to look professional however on the other hand you need to be comfortable too. I just think you need to look professional because this is the first impression you are making on parents. Plus kindergarten is so special and this is a special day also!
Hey guys thanks for sharing what you wear on the first day of the school. My principal wants us to wear "something nice" since we deal with parents on that first day. My second day of school will be capri's and a comfortable blouse.
But get this - I broke my ankle last night and now I'm in a cast so I will have a nice skirt and blouse with a cast and sneaker. Oh well, what can I do. It is what it is.
Sorry to hear about your injury! OUCH!! I was on crutches one year and still wore a dress. I tend to wear a skirt or dress. It's usually very hot and we don't have air at my school. Dresses sometimes are cooler and less confining. I also meet with the parents the 1st day and agree with making a great 1st impression.
