7 habits of happy children

I was wondering if anyone out there has used the book/philosophy of Steven Covey's 7 habits of happy children? I did take part in this last year with a co-worker but don't feel I did enough with it. Does anyone have lesson plans or ideas of how to introduce each of the habits and activities to go along with them? I think this is an amazing book and philosophy but other than reading it with the kids and constant reminders of the habits I'm not really sure how to make it more concrete and long-lasting with my kiddos! Thanks in advance for any help!

Our school uses the Seven Habits and it has made a great impact! Our first grade team created songs that go with the habits, we synergized when working together to create a habit tree for our classroom that told what the habits were, created a data notebook page that ask if they are proactive, have a plan, or begin with the end in mind, and we use it in our everyday language when reading stories. The Leader in Me by Steven Covey is a great resource and so is his website.

My school also uses the 7 habits, but my grade level mostly just reads the story in the happy children's book.

There is a Leader in Me group on this site. It's not very active yet, but it can be if we all start posting!

Sean Covey is also writing individual picture books for each of the habits. He has written at least the first 3 so far.

I'll be starting it this year, so I don't have tons to share, but I mostly plan on using the language throughout the day and also using the language when we are problem solving.

starting it this year. Our first day was Aug 25 and my 1st graders have already started learning the 7 habits. We do the motions and say the words together. I try to tie it into EVERYTHING. When we were washing our hands before lunch we talked about putting first things first. When we were going outside we talked about sharpening the saw. I try to drop the habits in everywhere I can so the students will begin using the language themselves.
