HI Ladies!! Thanks goodness for this board otherwise my random questions would never get answered!!!

Ok...I am going to trace and cut out each childs name with bulletin board letters for them to glue onto paper. My questions is...should I use all capitals or lowercase?!? As a first year K teacher...not sure which is easier for them to recognize the letters in their name?

Thanks!!!

do it the correct way- first letter cap and the rest lowercase since this is the way you will teach them to write it.

I have faced the same challenge Nicole, prolly because of my creative side where I naturally mix upper and lower case letters when writing titles for boards and such, however keep it simple for K. I find myself having to check over what I write to make sure it is in a font they can understand and use too. Good luck!

ALWAYS do it the correct way. That's the way you want them to write it so they should not see it in all caps anywhere in your room. This will sort of 'force' them to recognize their name...it doesn't take long because their name is SO important to them. Whenever YOU do their name in capitals, it just keeps sending the message/reinforcing the capitals and you don't want that.
