HM Reading Vocabulary Pictures
Old 09-23-2010, 03:30 PM

Clip to ScrapBook #1

I am new to first grade and need vocabulary words with pictures for the Houghton Mifflin reading stories (the teacher before me did not leave her set). I have checked the Santa Bonita website but for some reason the stories and vocabulary pictures they have listed do not match up with my stories. Does anyone know any other websites I could check out? I really don't want to have to create my own set for every story in 10 different themes!!

Thanks for your help!!

Are the stories "Mac the Cat" "A Day At School" "Pigs in a Rig" etc? If so I have most of the theme vocabulary and pictures. Another teacher and I took turns making them. They are on my computer at school. If this is the right series let me know.

We have that same HM series. I don't have pictures to go along with my vocab words. Can you attach them? Thanks.

I will try to get them posted either tomorrow or this weekend. Can't remember which themes I have done but I know I have a lot of them.

There's another great place to find HM resources also - if you're familiar with Yahoo - they have specialty "groups" and one of them is just for first grade teachers using HM. It's been a huge help while switching to 1st grade.

Do you have to sign up to the first grade group to view the resources?

sends you to Santa Maria Bonita site, so it isn't helpful! With the discontinuation of the Reading First Initiative, many have closed down their sites or have less up. I found this out by going to the Yahoo Groups site and searched for materials I always used! It is a bit frustrating!

I may have lost my copies of the vocabulary words I made when they reimaged our computers. I am still working on it. I will also ask the other teacher if she has them all and I will try to get them posted ASAP. Thanks for your patience.

I can't find the site anywhere. I just out about it from my sub, she had some great things for our HM reading series (3rd grade). Does anyone know the website or can you help me out somehow?
