Houghton Mifflin reading selection tests

Does anyone have any teacher-made selection tests that they would be willing to share for the Houghton Mifflin series? This is the newer series with Cliffhanger and Grandma's Records. I'm teaching a 2/3 split this year... we found out right before school started that there were only enough reading books for our straight third grade classes (They're using Scholastic), so I'm using the Houghton Mifflin set that I found in our school's library. I did get some teacher's manuals and resources from a neighboring school, and I've been using Mrs. Naney's Sharing Site, but not all the stories are on her site, and the selection tests in the teacher resources are weak, in my opinion. I have been searching Google for hours looking for tests that have already been made, but am not having much luck. I'm on Fall Break this week and I'm trying to get ahead on planning, since coming up with my own assessments takes so much time. I was hoping that someone here may already have some tests they would be willing to share, or know of another resource online where I can download... I have so many other things to do over Fall Break, and would love to find these so I can get more accomplished than just writing tests!!!

Right now I'm looking for Dancing Rainbows and the last 5 stories in the series.

Thanks so much in advance!!
~ Toni

I have the same series - I use the test from the series ( we have to use it with fidelity which includes the testing). I also have their Theme skills test book it is a gray book which has tests on all the skills, grammer, spelling way to much for me to give. But, I do like the skill tests. There is a story to read and 5 question that deal with that skill. I think there are 2 Theme skill test books - a weekly one and maybe one to give after the theme. I am at home and can't remember. There is also a test maker CD that we got. I will look on Monday and see what I have and give you the names. The other school may have them hidden somewhere or - maybe your P could order them for you. Try the HM site and see if any theme tests books are listed. My students like the stories and our test scores have been good with the series. Much luck. BTW there is a HM 3rd grade group on Yahoo.

I just found this website and it's pretty cool for HM stuff. I have the same series as you and not all the stories are on this website. The teacher that made it must have a different series.
I hope this is some what helpful!!

Thanks for mentioning Mrs. Naney's site. I was just moved from first to third last week after being in school for 2 weeks. Her site was just what I needed!

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

I've gotten a lot from her site, but my series is a newer edition, so some of the stories are not there. I wish I could find another good site like hers...

I no longer teach HMR but have a lot of files I have created. I guess I might as well post them so I put them up here: http://resourcesforteachers.shutterfly.com/hmr

I'm in TX so I made a lot of TAKS like questions. I hope you can use some of this.
