Activities for 10 Fat Turkeys

Clip to ScrapBook #1

I am going to my sons preschool this Thursday and I am going to read this book to his class. I was wondering if there are any cute activities I could do to go along with the book? Any suggestions would help. I was thinking about bringing in brown paint and making turkeys with their hands but I am not sure the teacher would like that or not. I teach 4th grade and have no clue about preschool. Please help!

What about doing their fingerprints instead? They could add the beak, legs, etc. or just make turkeys with paper. I'd have everything cut out and ready to go.

You could make a turkey snack with the kids. I did this a few years back with kindergarteners. I'm sure you can adapt it.

Get sugar cookies.
Have kids spread chocolate frosting. (you could do this step beforehand)
place a nutter butter cookie in the center for the neck and head.
use cany corn for feathers.
use gel icing (black and red) for eyes and waddle. (you could do this step at home too).

They are cute and the kids love them!

A healthier version would be peanut or sunflower butter on bread and maybe cut up fruit rollups for feathers. I'd use a vanilla wafer for the head.
