A couple of months ago, someone posted some trifolds to go along with the Texas Journeys reading series. Unfortunately, I didn't bookmark the thread. I'd love to use these trifold after school starts back!
I do not hav the trifolds but I have several activities to go with 3rd grade Texas Journneys. I would love to share them but not really sure how to do it....don't think I have been a member long enough or have enough post.
I posted a bunch of things for Journeys on this thread I think this how to connect you. http://www.proteacher.net/discussion...d.php?t=296642
I am working on more now. I am in PA,so I don't know if you have the same stories or not. Check them out and see. I would love to email any things you want to share. It is so much work to implement a new reading series. I have voc. cards, spelling lists also. It is easier to email that info.
I have made word search, crossword puzzles and spelling work sheets for Unit 4, but I can't post these because I have not been a member long enough. If anyone would like them, I will be glad to share if someone can tell me how to do it,,,,
I make weekly study guides for the lessons for the students to take home and study that include the vocabulary and main grammar information. I'm happy to share, however, I'm not able to post yet either.
This week I'm on Lesson 12 "The Science Fair"
Champ, I can try to email you Lesson 13 study guide to see if you want the rest. Let me know if you are interested.
I'm struggling with this program. There is so much work to do to make the lessons interesting. My kids always seem to do poorly on the grammar section of the test each week.
You have to have so many posts to be able to post. Check out the info sectin of this site and it tells you, but just keep posting and then you can post. If you want to email me I will share my stuff with you!
I would love to share ideas/ sheets etc with you. I have been doing the trifolds, adapting them as needed plus adding more vocabulary words and spelling words to each unit. We also do a "picture vocabulary"- a table that students have to draw an illustration that they think of when they see the vocabulary word. My email is firstname.lastname@example.org. My name is Amy and I would love to share.
I have made some things for this new series as well. We are skipping around in the series, and are not going straight through. This week we are doing Jump! and next week we are on to Lesson 29. I would be glad to share the things I have come up with as well. My email is mcbridej at lisd dot net. I would appreciate anything y'all could send my way.
I would also love to have that information. We are starting Journeys next year, and I am trying to replace all of the great things I created for the old series. Unfortunately, I don't have as much time as I did when we started the old series. I would appreciate anything that you would be willing to share. My email is Sari427 at juno.com
Our district is also starting Journeys next year. If anyone has anything they can share with me for Kindergarten, I would love it. Not only are we adopting a new reading program but we are adding time to our day. (2 hours). Used to go from7:30 to 1:00, now 7:30 to 3. Not sure if I am going to be able to do all of it!! Let me know and I will send my email address as well.
Our school adopted the Journeys program this year. It has been a trying one to say the least. I live in Ecuador, so I teach English as a Second Language. With all that I have read about it this program is challenging for native speakers. My 3rd graders really are struggling with the stories and vocabulary.
I think the trifolds are a great tool and love them. Thank you Champ for this great resource and the domino idea. I do work with the spelling booklet and my kids come up with great ways of decorating them.
We also do a lot of crosswords, word jumbles, and other activities.
I would love the study guides to get an idea on how to do my own and adapt them for my girls.
I would love to see some of your activities. I am new to the program this year, as I was on maternity leave last year, and am struggling to find things to do with it in small guided reading groups. My e-mail is
My charter school just adopted TX Journeys and all I have are the student books. I saw the 10-15 trifolds and downloaded those. They are great! Do you have others? I teach 3rd grade and would love to have them.
We are starting Journey's this year and I see there are trifolds we can use with the stories. I would love to use them as I was able to do for Storytown. Is there anyone who has it for Unit 1? I would greatly appreciate it if you could post them again. They are a wonderful resource for my students.
