Why does my head itch when I skip a day of washing my hair?

I don't do this very often because it just makes me feel gross, but whenever I go one day without shampooing, my scalp itches. I have oily hair so I don't think it could be dry scalp. I know my hair couldn't be THAT dirty to make me itchy after only one skipped day. It only happens when I skip a day of washing. Maybe from not washing hair product out?

Oily hair is sometimes a reaction to dry scalp. Your body is trying to overcompensate for the dryness by producing more oil. My hairstylist explained it to me, because I couldn't figure out why my scalp was flaking so bad when it gets so oily pretty quickly.

I know my hair tends to feel itchy after I've straightened it or blow dried it too much. Do you do anything like that?

Yes, I straighten and blow dry pretty much everyday. I don't have any dandruff though.

Whenever I straighten my hair at night and skip the next day of washing, I always feel itchy. I think maybe because of the pulling on the hair and the not washing the product out? I've always wonder why that happens.

I have really oily hair, and mine also itches when I skip a day of washing. Since I don't really have much hair anymore and keep what I do have cut super short, I thought I could start washing every other day. Nope. It still itches like crazy when I skip a day. I don't put any kinds of products in my hair either. It's shampoo only for me.

Have you ever tried using a dry shampoo? You spray it in, leave it for a minute, then comb it out and style as usual. I use it sometimes on my "no wash" days. I find it helps with the itching and makes my hair look less greasy. I would never use it as a substitute for wet shampoo, though.
