Our standardized tests are coming up in March and I'd like to give my students something little every morning they take the test to motivate them. I was thinking something little like a package of smarties and a little saying that goes with it like: You're a smarty pants! I know you'll do great! I need help with other clever sayings and ideas to hand out for the rest of the week. Help! Thanks!

Have you read the book Testing Miss Malarkey? It's a cute little book about a class taking the I-PTU test (I pity you). It's a great ice breaker/stress reliever about testing. I know it isn't exactly what you are looking for here, but it has a lot of value in the classrom

i student taught last year in 3rd grade and they read that book. the teacher also had the students draw their rendition of the isat tests. it's amazing to see how they feel about the isat!

anyways, what if you had a whole week kind of like an isat spirit week where you did something as a class or grade level that got the students involved everyday. for example, we're RED-y for the isat on the first day (everybody wears red), a class full of smarties (give them the smarties), i'm drawing a blank right now, but i'm sure there's other things out there i just can't think right now!!!

I am actually getting ready to present a workshop on this very topic. I am trying to come up with some HEALTHY treats with sayings for those schools who now have strict mandates on the sugar content of what they give the kids. Let me know if you get any more replies that I could use. Good luck!

We are making bookmarks. Clover clip art and GOOD LUCK on light green copy paper and laminate.

My class of 2nd grade students have adopted a 3rd grade class to motivate them through their standardized tests this year and I have been racking mine and a co-worker's brain. This site is exactly what we needed. Here are some that we came up with:

Smarties- Good luck to a class full of smarties.
Lifesavers- The power of your brain-it's your true lifesaver.
" - You can't use a lifeline-but you can eat a lifesaver.
Blow Pops- Blow the correct answers right out of the water.
