A girl I was friends with in college is a high school teacher who is constantly posting pictures of she and her students on facebook. Maybe I'm really old fashioned, but I think this is truly bizarre...she is always "posing" with them like they are "friends". If I didn't know they were her students, I'd just assume they were her friends!
Just curious what others think of posting pictures of students on facebook?
just got fired for putting a video of kids doing a lesson on FB for the other teachers in her dept!!!!! It was an innocent video of kids doing work in a classroom but a parent found out and went to the school dept about it and he just lost his job. It's a really bad thing to do and not allowed. In fact another teacher in our school got written up just for taking a video of some kids fighting so he would have proof for disciplinary action and he got in trouble for doing that!
who posts pictures of her class and of her daughter's class as well and I always worry about her not have e ery parent's permission. I would be very afraid of posting anything that involved my students. I just believe it wrong on all levels.
SHe sounds like a real idiot. It is never ok to post photos of students on any website, especially without parent permission. I would NEVER post a photo of a student and me on Facebook. Once in awhile I'll post a photo of school or my class, but if there are any kids in the shot I get the bak of a head or just the legs or something.
She is opening up a huge can of worms for herself. I would say something to her...
A good majority of my college friends post pictures of their students on facebook. One even made her profile pic of her and her students. I think its really stupid. And we were told over and over by college professors in the education department about being careful with your facebook so really they should know better. I also have friends who create albumns such as "my class" and have pics of their students. I would never post pictures of students. At most I might post pictures of my classroom, but not with students in them.
I would never do it! In fact, I just set up my first Donors Chose project, for which you have to supply a picture of your class/classroom/self. I wanted to link it up to my Facebook account in hopes of getting more donations, but didn't want any of their faces to be seen. So, I had them all pose like they were reading with books covering their faces. Didn't want to risk it!
