Italian ice vs. gelato vs. ice cream

Oh, such a predicament.

Today DH and I are going to a nearby town to visit relatives. The nearby town has those three options for a refreshing cool down on this warm spring day.

So, I ask my PT friends, out of those three, which is your favorite cool treat? Italian ice, gelato, or regular ice cream?

The Italian ice is at Rita's, the gelato is at an independently owned shop, and the regular ice cream is at Marble Slab. I might be really bad and stop at two different places--one on the way there and one on the way back.

I prefer creamy over icy, so I would definitely go for ice cream or gelato. Now on that note, I can get more unique flavors of gelato than ice cream, like tiramisu, or pomegranate, or other fabulous flavors.

BUT, if you love crunchy stuff, then go with marble slab and add almonds and marshmallows and coconut to chocolate and make the best rocky road ever.

Did that help??

I would do the gelato and/or italian ice. We don't have anyplace close to us that sells either of these 2, so it would be a definite treat

DEFINITELY the gelato. I love the flavors it comes in, and i think it tastes so much more creamy than ice cream.

Rita's won! I had a BOGO free coupon for there because I'm an e-club member.

I had a half Georgia peach/half strawberry. Yum, yum! DH got a chocolate banana misto.

I've only had gelato once before. I sent DH into the store to get it for me and he came out with chocolate. Hopefully the next time we visit I can get a more adventurous flavor.

I actually used to work at Marble Slab for a few months while in college and I gained about 15 pounds when working there. Eeek! It's just that good, though.
