I still impress my family because I can(sing) say all 50 states in alphabetical order!! I sang that song all the time when I was younger. lol It'd be fun to teach it to my students. I'd love to download it.

Does anyone know where I can download Tony Chestnut (Toe-Knee Chest-Nut)?

Are these the lyrics you were looking for?

Fifty Nifty United States
By Ray Charles

Fifty nifty United States from thirteen original colonies;
Fifty nifty stars in the flag that billows so beautifully in the breeze.
Each individual state contributes a quality that is great.
Each individual state deserves a bow,
let’s salute them now.

Fifty nifty United States from thirteen original colonies,
Shout 'em, tout 'em. Tell all about 'em,
One by one till we've given a day to every state in the USA ,
in the USA., in the USA .

Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas,
California, Colorado, Connecticut;
Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii,
Idaho, Illinois, Indiana;
Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana,
Maine, Maryland,
Massachusetts, Michigan;
Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana,
Nebraska, Nevada;
New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York,
North Carolina, North Dakota, O-hi-o;
Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania,
Rhode Island, South Carolina,
South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas;
Utah, Vermont, Virginia, Washington,
West Virginia, Wisconsin, Wy-o ming.

North, south, east, west, oooh…
In our cool, considerate, objective, un-prejudiced opinion,
(name of home state) is the best--of the

Fifty nifty United States from thirteen original colonies,
Fifty nifty stars in the flag that billows so beautifully in the breeze.
Each individual state contributes a quality that is great.
Each individual state deserves a bow, let’s salute them now.

Fifty nifty United States from thirteen original colonies,
add up to U-S-A!

At least it is when you can sing it for a bunch of third graders.
I remember learning this song when I was a kid. When I went to sub for music I found that they were just starting to learn it. They thought they would never get all the states down. When I went on to recite all the states IN alphabetical order you should have seen their jaws drop. Some were reading along to make sure I didn't mess up. I told them that if an Old Lady like me could learn them all AND still remember them they could too!

Ok so when I tried to play it on my computer I couldnt hear anything either so I decided to try to burn it to a cd. This did work but there is still something wrong with it. It is really fast and sounds like mice are singing it. So if you have a class that likes to talk fast, this might work. Anyone know of any other sites? I dont mind paying a little for the song I would just like to find it.
Thanks Melissa

Try sheetmusicplus.com. In the search box type in the name and 4 items come up. One has a CD accompaniment. Hope this is what you're looking for--I love this song too!

I just downloaded it and it worked. The volume isn't fantastic, but with an extra speaker it should be fine.
