I'm thinking of doing a bb based on acknowledging students' acts of kindness. Has anyone done this before? How did you work it?

You could do a kindness tree and add pieces of fruit/leaves to write kindnesses on it.

"Kindness Catcher" bb this year. I am using a large bug net that I bought at Dollar Tree and a cute ladybug/bug bb set I had. Every time someone is "caught being kind" it will be written down on an index card and placed in the net. I am also going to give the student a reward card.

I had my signature under the nets, but removed to post.

Kindness Board

I had a blank board titled "Kind Words in Room XX"

If student-A heard another student say something kind, student-A would write the other child's initials on a post-it and put it on the board.

very simple, not very creative, but the kids loved keeping up with it and they were impressed to see how quickly it looked full, and they loved seeing their initials up there. It was all their's, didn't take any work from me.

What a great idea! Thank you for asking this question!

Now you've really got my brain going. I'm thinking I will keep little stacks of paper in the whole group area and the small group area so that they are handy and when a student does something especially kind I can write it on this paper with the student;s name and they can go post it on the tree, or whatever it is. Now I need to fit it to my Dr. Seuss theme.......

We did this last year for our grade level board with a fish theme. Whenever one of us saw a child displaying kindness we wrote their name and what they did on a fish and posted it on the board. Students loved it. At the end of the year, they wanted to take their fish home with them.
