Years ago when I taught first grade I used Silverstein, Lanskey, and Peruskey (sp?) poetry to identify nouns and verbs. I would write the poem on theboard leaving out all of the nouns (or verbs) and then we would complete it with our own. Because they were silly poens to begin with, when we would read the original to compare, they often voted that their own was the best. Here is a site with some good poems.

What Is a Noun?

A noun is a fine word. Yes siree!
A person, a place,
or an object you see.
Can you draw a picture of the word?
If you can, it's a noun you've heard!
=============================== ===
Noun Song
(Tune- "Polly Woddle Doodle")

Oh, a noun is a name!
Yes, a noun is a name!
Of a person, place or thing
(Or idea!) [spoken]
Yes, a noun is a name!
Yes, a noun is a name!
Of a person, place or thing
(Or idea!) [spoken]

It's a noun! It's a noun!
It's the name of anything
Any person, any places,
anything from hats to laces.
It names persons, places or things. (and ideas!) [spoken]

THE ADVERB SONG
Tune: "You Are My Sunshine"

You are my adverb!
You tell about verbs!
You tell folks how, where, and when!
You're easily spotted
By your L-Y, dear.
I'll never write without you again!

For wonderfully exciting fun, sing it again in these styles:
Chipmunk Style, Texas Style, Opera Style

My 5th grade teacher taught me this...
a nouns a person place or thing or sometimes even time like spring
a verb tells what the subject does like jumps or fishes, is or was
an adverb takes the nouns own place, like they for children she for grace
an adjective describes a noun like sad or ugly rich or brown
a preposition leads a noun in bed at sea or to the town

A Special World For You And Me, A Special Bond One Can Not See. If I Could Have Just One Wish, I Would Wish To Wake Up Every Day To The Sound Of Your Breath On My Neck. I Love The Way You Kiss Me, Your Lips So Soft And Smooth I Love The Way You Look At Me Straight Into My Eyes. If I Could Spend Every Moment Of My Life With You I Would, I Would Never Leave Your Side. I Miss You Every Second Were Not Together I Love To Have You Near! Never Do I Want To Lose You, Honestly Thatís My Only Fear. I Rather Die Than Live With Out You My Dear! You Are My First And Only Love I Will Never Let Anyone Come In Between For I Have No Fear To Fight Ill Whop Ass For Whatís Mine I Will Never Be Fine If I Know Iím Not Yours And Your Not Mine. I Want A Future With You Baby Maybe One Day We Can Get Married And Start A Family Of Our Own! My Only Wishes Is To Have Us Together So We Can Grow Old. I Love You To Death For You Have My Heart. My Soul Rests In Your Hands Until You Let Me Go. Iíll Hold On And Try To Make Things Work Until Things Are Perfect Again Between Us, Youíre my Husband In My Eyes And You Say I Am Your Wife But Sometimes I Second Guess That Because Your Actions Speak Louder Than Words. Iím Willing To Deal Because I Canít And Wonít Live With Out You. Youíre My Life My Love My Air I Breath, The Body I Lay With, The One Who Protects Me Keeps Me Safe, The Only One Iíll Let In Between My Legs. Baby You Are The Only One Who I Will Let Have My Heart The Way You Do. Three People Is Too Many I Wish I Only Slept With You But We Worked Through The Pain Together Thatís How I Know Were Meant To Be And Our Love Is True. Hopefully We Will Be Together Forever! For I Never Want To Lose You. I Love You To Death And What Ever You need I Have It When You Need Me I Will Be There I Swear To You Youíre the Only One I Will Ever Love Like This And Thatís A Fact. Iíll Always have Your Back!

Sorry, but a pronoun takes the place of a noun and an adverb describes a verb or another adverb.
