My school has some extra money that must be spent for technology. I need some ideas. I'd like to hear what your favorite technology programs and/or equipment that you use and which you would recommend to others.

What a gift to have extra $ in these tight times! I guess the question is how much extra?

I always favor opportunities to put technology in the hands of the students. That could mean thin client computers that expand one desktop in the classroom into 3. ($150 per screen or so) Or it could mean netbooks, which is more expensive ($300-500 per). IPads are real popular and wonderful in primary grades.

Does your computer lab have good headphones? get rid of the cheapie sets and get something you can disinfect!

iPod Touches are good too instead of iPads if you don't have enough money. New projectors and screens would be a good investment too. And there's always the go to SmartBoard too!

I agree Ipod touches are great classroom tools. The apps are inexpensive and there are so many available. My students use iPods to create poetry and for reading comprehension exercises.

There are lots of great online programs for education. Our school purchased TimezAttack.
