Our grade level rotates around the different classrooms for Christmas Around The World. I have been assigned Italy. Any ideas? TIA

Read The Legend of Old Befana by Tomie dePaola, then make the witches with a broom.

Instead of writing letters to Santa Claus asking for presents (or, in the digital age, e-mailing Santa Claus), Italian children write letters to tell their parents how much they love them. The letter is normally placed under their father's plate and read after Christmas Eve dinner has been finished.

For a craft to go along with the story, my class has made pasta necklaces using penne pasta that was dyed red and green.

There is also some tradition of shoes and gifts. I can't remember and my ppt is not on this computer. I've done Italy for our Christmas Around the World for 4 years in 6th grade. I did not have time to do a craft with the format of our celebration. I wish we did because i would have done a witch craft.
