End of the Year Slideshow ?

I am going to make an end of the year slideshow for the entire 4th grade. Does anyone have any ideas for songs? I want them to be popular songs with the kids, but appropriate for school. Any suggestions?

for the first time in years, i already know what music i'm using, what our theme song is, what our theme and decorations are for our sixth grade promotion ceremony--i'm usually down to the wire, and have, in the past, used "older" songs--ugh!

Our theme this year is: Change the World, Together

all our songs have to do with being a positive force and standing together. i just copied most of my idea list--the starred ones are the ones i'm definitely using---still deciding on the rest--our slideshow is about 23 minutes long

waiting on the world to change—john meyer 3:21

jack Johnson—you and I are gonna be friends (curious george soundtrack)

***Keep Holding On Avril Lavigne from Eragon soundtrack 3:59

***Shine on –Jet 4:42

“hang on” smash mouth 2:53

****brandi carlile—the story 3:58

***five for fighting “world” 3:52

***meet the Robinsons all-american rejects “the future has arrived” 3:05 the only problem with this one is that itunes does not carry the single--only the whole crummy album "VoldeMart" (stealing from someone here at PT) carries the single, but i recall last year, those songs didn't convert correctly to my program.....

however I wanted AI last night and Rascal Flatts sang My Wish and it seemed perfect for my slideshow/movie. Not 100% on the lyrics so you may want to read them first!

I agree with 1stgradenew. I would use "My Wish" by Rascal Flatts. I was going to put this into my own end-of-year slideshow, but since I'm out on maternity leave, I'm not going to do one this year.

You Raise Me Up by Josh Groban or You Lift Me Up by Rachael Lampa or even Forever Young by Rod Stewart!

Creating the slideshow

Hi! I was wondering what computer program all of you used to create your slideshows. I used Powerpoint last year, but I wasn't able to copy the slideshow for the parents with the music on it for some reason. I'd like to use a program that would allow me to copy it with the music intact. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Ulead VideoStudio. When I bought it, I think I paid about $100 for the program. I really like it. It can be used to edit video footage as well. I burn my movies/slideshows to a DVD.

I'm not very familiar with the program, but you might try Windows Movie Maker. It came with my computer.

I use windows movie maker. It was "free" and SUPER easy.

Anyway, I was going to say 'My Wish' too, I used it for my cousin's daughters and she loved it.

I also have a song...I believe it's from the Princess Diaries soundtrack called, "What Makes You Different (Makes You Beautiful)".

When I do my movies, I try to put a bunch of different songs in that either reflect what is going on in the movie or the kids. I just made one for my cousin's middle daughter that is a hoot.

I am currently making an imovie. It is really easy and I can use video and pictures. You then can add music. When I finish I will then export it to idvd and burn copies for all my students to keep.

End of the year film!

I just completed my video for my 4th grade students. I used 3 songs. Jackson 5's ABC, We're the Kids of America, and Forever Young. I played the video for my parents at our open house last night and it was great! I used moviemaker and it was easy and I was able to put it onto a CD for my students as a gift for the end of the year!
