Common Core Reading Lesson Plans

Clip to ScrapBook #1

We are implementing common core next year in reading/language arts. We have been using Harcourt Trophies as our reading program the past 6 years, but now we are no longer supposed to use it. I am searching for a website or book that I could use to help me set up a year's worth of reading lesson plans, preferably set up by skill based units. I have found readwords.org which is wonderful, but there are not enough lessons there to keep me going all year. Any suggestions?

I just bought this book and love it. I plan to use it next year since I will be in fourth grade. It's expensive but well worth it. My admin is hoping to buy one for each grade level to use during grade level planning meetings.

This website for a school district in Utah has six units set up based on the Common Core with links within the document to related resources. I've already outlined my first nine weeks using it!

This is another website I found that has spelling lists for the year. I've been using spelling lists based on the stories in Reading Street, but since I will not be using it much in the upcoming year - I wanted to find something different.

Hope that helps!

We are going to the CCSS for literacy and math this September. We use Trophies and EDM. Any ideas to make the transition a bit easier. I loved the book mentioned above and will order it. But, I mean hands on tidbits.

Thanks in advance.

NC has the exact same pacing guide, but I'm at a loss as to how to design my lesson plans. Could you share what you've done so far? TIA
