need ideas for a basket for church raffle

Clip to ScrapBook #1

Our church has asked families to donate baskets to raffle off for a fundraiser. Does anyone have an idea for a cute basket? So far there are baskets of cheer and movie night baskets, a date night basket and a few other choices. Most of the baskets are aimed at adults so I thought we could do more of a kids' basket.

These are the things that I thought of for our basket:

Superhero basket (Avengers, Batman, Spiderman movies are all out/coming out this summer). I thought that I would go to Target and get some superhero toys and get a Spiderman or Avengers Backpack as the "basket."

Pool basket with noodles, inflatable, goggles, beach towel, etc.

Beach fun basket with sandcastle supplies, frisbee, pail and shovel, and sunblock. I would put the items in an inexpensive cooler.

Is there anything else that you can think of that would be a hit with kids? Thanks.

Queenie

The ideas you have sound great. How about a back to school basket with school supplies?

Puzzles?

How about a basket with puzzles?

An "Artist" basket with crayons, paper, some paints, colored pencils, a sketch book?

A "Kid Cook" basket with a small apron, measuring spoons, a package of cookie mix, a can of frosting and a container of sprinkles?

A "Learn to Knit" basket with a set of size 8 needles, some chunky yarn and directions for a potholder or scarf (easily downloaded from Lion Brand Yarns website for free)?

A "Lemonade Stand" basket with a pitcher, lemonade mix, a small box for cash, paper cups and napkins?

I'll post if I think of anything else!

Game Night Basket
Fill it with board games, card games, etc.

Fast Food Coupons
Kids love to eat at McDonald's, BK, Dairy Queen, etc. Get a few small gift cards for treats---kids love these!

For Girls
Mani/Pedi basket--items for a manicure and pedicure at home---cute polish, clippers and files, lotions, etc.

Not for kids, but:
A photography basket---find a local photographer to donate a sitting, include cute picture frames, scrapbooking items.

Good luck!

Baskets

This sounds fun! I have a 'tween DD (almost 12) so a basket geared toward that age girl would include:

Bath & Bodyworks: pretty much anything in there! They have lotions, bodywashes, and body mists in all kinds of scents. DD LOVES this place.

Nail polish and nail accessories (glitter and loud colors are great)

Hair accesssories

Lip gloss (DD has a million lip glosses in various scents and tints)

Cute flip-flops

If my DD saw a basket with this stuff in it, we would have to bid on it! Good luck with the project. It sounds really fun.

I was thinking an outdoor basket....balls, bubbles, etc. Melissa and Doug make some cute outdoor things that I have bought on Amazon. You could also do a basket of children's books. A family movie night? You could do a few popular kid's dvds (Toy Story 3, Madagascar, etc), popcorn, and then some movie type snacks like twizzlers, chocolates, etc. My toddler loves anything art related...different kinds of crayons, coloring books, pads, finger paints, water paint, those water paint books, little note pads ( I got some cute ones for her at dollar zone in Target), chalk so they can draw outside, markers, glitter glue, etc.

I couldn't think of anymore kid themed baskets, so what about a dog basket or a cat basket with some toys, treats, blanket, bowl, grooming supplies, pet shop gift card?

some I remember--
coffee basket--beans, gourmet coffees, cute mugs, creamers, choco covered plastic spoons, bucks gift cards

mani/pedi theme, as mentioned
Sally's has lots of inexpensive lotions for feet and hands and separators, files
Don't forget the Sally Henson sticker nails too--fun!

movie theme--see pinterest

picnic basket (picnic basket WAS the basket!)--cute!
Dollar stores have cute summer plasticware for this, also ketchup, mustard, pickle relish, different flavors of sauces and rubs, bbq tools...

Have fun!
