Christian Rainforest

I absolutely love-love-love all of the rainforest ideas I have gotten from these posts. I am going to be doing a rainforest theme next year (the 1st year I have done a theme) and I teach in a Christian school. Any cute ideas for a "Christian Rainforest" theme?

I don't know the exact scripture, but I was thinking you could do something with the Genesis scripture on when God created the animals, birds, etc...

The other option is the New Testament scripture (Mark) "He was with the wild animals and angels attended Him" , but he was really in the desert and not the rainforest!

Wild about God...

Our school chooses a school wide theme for each year. Our theme for 2007-2008 is Wild about God. The theme scripture verse is from the first part of Romans 1:16: I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes..."
I was thinking about turning my classroom into a rainforest, too. Here's some thoughts so far:
-Create a large tree around the classroom door, including branches attached to the ceiling. I was going to hang a few stuffed animals from the branches. Of course, I'll put the words "We're Wild about God" on the door.
-Oriental Trading has an extensive rain forest section, including Christian themed "wild about God" items.
-I'll keep thinking!!

and am also doing a jungle theme. I'm going to go the "He's the King of the Jungle" route (you know, like the VBS song?) I'm going to label our memory verse board "A Word from the King", and that's about all I've got from a Biblical perspective. I've got a huge tree with stuffed animals in a corner of my library; a leopard print bulletin board that says "Spotted: GRRREat Books" for reader recommendations; an information hut made of bamboo and onion grass roof for lunch menu, announcements, etc., a FROG poster (Fully Rely on God) over my Gecko curtains, and that's about it. This site has been great for getting ideas about classroom themes!

I work in a Christian school too, and I was thinking of doing the "Exploring God's World" title for a camping theme. I'm just not sure yet. You could probably use that as a title for a rainforest theme also, but I liked the other suggestions the previous posters gave.

FROG theme

I teach in a Catholic school and use frogs in my classroom for the theme. Fully Rely On God is what I use and I have my children decorate frogs at the beginning of the year and we put them on the wall under the words Fully Rely on God and there they stay for the remainder of the year to remind the children.

I am also doing the rainforest theme in a christian school. This will be my first year doing a theme. Have you thought about what you are going to do on your door?

I love the door in the pic on the link below...actually I just love the whole room! I am not sure what I am going to do exactly yet though. I love the "Wild About God" theme. I also thought of doing monkeys and bananas and using "We're Bananas For Jesus" with the student's names on the bananas. I already got some leopard print letters and am going to use the "Spotted: GRRREAT Books!" saying over the book center. I can't remember who posted that...but I loved it. Let me know if you get any great ideas.
