I am a 3rd grade teacher and new to "proteacher". Does anyone know where you can purchase Michael Eaton products? I am specifically looking for the math vocabulary cards he offers.

It's my understanding that Michael Eaton Math has closed up shop and the materials are no longer under copyright. So, if you can find someone who has the vocab cards, you can copy them. But you will no longer be able to purchase from the ME site. This is what I was told by my mother-in-law who is a 4th grade teacher and ME fan.

Michael Eaton is a conman. Avoid him and his non peer-reviewed curriculum.

I disagree - I have used Michael Eaton's Math Across the Curriculum for over ten years, and I still love it! It's one of the best math programs I've ever used for getting students to problem solve and locate information!

I disagree too. I had the pleasure of attending his lectures and was amazed by his ideas. His math products are outstanding. It is a shame that he went out of business. Our test scores went through the roof after we used his techinques...spiraling is key.

I used Michael Eaton math many years ago and loved it. I'd love to get a 4th, 5th and 6th grade program. I think I still have the math vocabulary cards and I think I still have the weekly vocabulary cards as well.

Would you believe....I still use the voc. words with my first graders! They simply love the words. They enjoy using "big words" when writing.
I sure wish Mr. Eaton would still come around to our schools and provide the sessions he used to do to our young teachers!

Thorough math curriculum

I disagree as well, with any negative comments about the math curriculum itself. I do not know Michael Eaton personally; however, his product is outstanding. My son was introduced to the skill builder packets in the 5th grade and this was his teacher's primary choice of instruction. My son mastered key core concepts quickly and for his lifetime, not solely for memorization and testing purposes. I am proud to say that my son graduated as Valedictorian of his senior class this past May 2011!

Does your mother-in-law or anyone out there have any of his math stuff. I am a 5th grade teacher but I would take 3rd or 4th grade material.

I would love to find the 3.4.5 Math Program myself. If anyone has the spiraling sheets and would share I would love it. I used it in the past and someone decided we didn't need it anymore and threw all of it away.....

I am sad to hear that Michael Eaton products are no longer available - does anybody have an update as to whether or not previously purchased products can be reproduced and used? Or if the curriculum is available under another name? Thanks!
