TEACHER DIRECTIONS
1. Buy the beads (the ones with bigger holes are easier to string
string (black stretchy necklace cord or nylon cord),
rings, and
lanyard hooks
in the craft section of walmart, hobby loby, etc..
2. Before the day of the activity, cut the cord and attach the ring to one end. Make one for yourself first so you cut the cord long enough. You can always trim off excess cord at the end.
3. Put the directions on the board or give them each a copy of the directions.
4. Let the kids choose their beads using the chart. (I gave them a plastic meat tray so they didn't lose the beads on the way back to their seats.)
5. They get a cord, arrange the beads in a pattern of their choice, and bring it to you to knot the other end. It's very helpful to have another adult or two to help you tie! You can let it hang or loop it up
later...
6. When everyone has a zipper pull, the kids should all put them on.
7. Give them the questionnaire to fill out.
