We have a half days all this week, but won't be able to work in our classrooms at all. Our P makes sure every minute is spent in some type of meeting. I'd rather have full days and let my students help me clean and box up my classroom.

Half - out around 11, so no lunch served, only breakfast. Also, teachers are done as soon as kids leave. We don't have any teacher work days/check out days once kids are gone. (Certain other positions like secretaries, principals, counselors, and librarians are contracted for more days once kids are out, but not teachers.)

Half for students, full for staff. We also have meetings scheduled. It is amazing how admin. thinks our rooms pack up themselves ....or they expect that we do it on our own time.

FULL! I hate it...we have a Moving Up Ceremony, and it used to be lunch and go home after...what do they seriously think we are doing the rest of the day?

I encourage my students (who aren't the moving up grade and are old enough to stay home alone) to stay home, but many of them are forced to come by their parents.

All of our days are full. We never, EVER have early release or late starts. I'm always puzzled when I read about those here at PT. Once a year, on the last day of school, no problem. I'd like that. But even a few times a year would add up to valuable learning time being lost. I don't see how those shortened days can be counted as "full" days and result in not having to make any time up. There's no way I could teach everything I needed to teach if my day was two hours shorter. When you take out recess, lunch, and specials, we have about four and a half hours of actual instructional time.

But again, on the last day of school - just that once - it would be fine. It would be a special treat or reward for the tea-, I mean the kids. It's all about the kids.

Get this...full day with students on Friday; then teachers have to come back MONDAY for meetings half day, last half of day to work on rooms. And no, no one can leave before contracted time.

We have a half day for students this Thursday, then a full work day for teachers on Friday. Thursday afternoon & Friday are supposed to be for us to get our rooms squared away, but they somehow always seem to be taken up with meetings. This mystifies me, because we're DONE! What's there to meet about????

Half day, followed by end of year margarita party at the world's best school secretary's house! There is an in service day on Thursday, but because it is outside the regular school year they can't force us to go, so I am not going. ( an Envision rep is coming to show us how they rearranged the chapters to meet CCS for math. Umm, really? You couldn't have done this at the district wide SIP day two weeks ago?)

Ours last day is Wednesday. It will be a full day with kids. We always have inflatables come on the last day as part of a fundraising reward, so the kids have lots of fun.

Teachers report on Th. and Fri. This year we have a 1/2 day of in-service on Th. to learn about our new reading program, then it's working in our rooms. Hopefully, my room will be totally packed by then though. I have a flex day on Friday for doing some work last summer, so my last day is Thursday!

Kids get out at noon. I like to take my team out to lunch, but don't think I will this year. We are suppose to be in classroom until 3:30pm.
Then we are to report Monday morning at 8:15 for faculty meeting.
that is such a joke! Non-returning teachers won't be there.

a half day Thursday for students (Teachers much stay full day but it is ours to pack up the room) and then half day Friday for students and we can leave early that day. This of course isn't until June 21st!

Tomorrow is the last day for students and teachers. It is a full (field) day. As of last year (or the year before, I don't remember for certain), we can no longer have half days.

We have a half day on Friday for the students. Then we have the teacher luncheon after the kids leave, but if we are moving classrooms we have to do it that day too.
We have to have our end of they year party on Thursday.
Teachers have a work day on Monday, but if everything is done, then we do not have to come in.

Last day (this coming Friday ) students get out at 11:00 am, teachers have a party that afternoon. Then we have three workdays the following M,T, and W.

We go until June 21st (I think; is that a Friday?)

Our last week is early dismissal for the students; we have full days but spend them cleaning up, finalizing grades, etc. We don't have any days without the kids (their last day is our last day).

The kids left early last Thursday, we had meetings until our regular time. Teachers have to come back for meetings until next Tuesday, full days. If you didn't go to workshop last summer then you have to come back until Thursday. Our last day of school has always been a half day for students and full for teachers. We are back three extra days this year because of snow days, it's usually only two.

I usually end my programs a week or so before the schools end as a curtousy to the teachers so they can wrap things up with their students without outside interruptions. The magic date is usually right before Memorial Day weekend. Familys have a tendency to feel that band is finished after the concert is over as the goal for the music being worked on all semester has been met. Some kids do get a lesson or two after te concert is over though depending on when it is.

Some of my schools may want a school concert along with an evening concert. On this day, I usually cancel regular lessons for the day since students do a lot of performing. If they have a concert early, I may have small group school day lessons but cancel the after school rehearsals on the last day. I notify parents when the last day of class is, then am free to just go home after that.

The perks of what I do are that I can and am wanted to end right before Memorial Day weekend. Shortly after schools start I go in to do recruiting sessions to get students to sign up for each year. That is only a few hours here and there so I usually don't really start being back full time with regular classes until around September 10th or so which is like a dream summer.

Sorry for rambling on and on about not so relevant stuff.

It was supposed to be full, but since it's a snow make-up day it was turned into a half day, though we only get done 2 hours early on "half days" (which we actually call early release).

following 8th grade graduation at 10:00. Not sure how I'm supposed to fill the time from 7:50-9:50 on the last day of school. It's not going to be instructional time.

I have to go back M, T, W for teacher meetings etc. I don't think anyone there leaves early on any of those days. They fill them right up to the contracted time.

Our last day of school this Friday is considered a half day - 12 noon dismissal. Then we have 8th grade graduation at 2:00 pm and the middle school dance that night. This year we have two teacher work days (one with meetings, one without) next Monday and Tuesday.

students = leave after party on Thurs June 6.... party is over at 9:30. It is early release at 12:30 so I will have kids whose parents did not come to party.
Fri. June 7 - my last day. Then I will be required to do 2 day of inservice training so that I can have a full week at Thanksgiving,

is the last day of school. It is a full day. My firsties are done now. I am not looking forward to the next 7 school days, though I have more that enough stuff planned for them. Teachers have two days after them to complete records and clean rooms.

The last two days with students are halves (1:00 dismissals, not truly halves) and then we are dragged in for another day without students. Total waste of time--room is done, checks are electronically deposited, and my past principal would occasionally have a meeting, but usually did not. They only do it because contractually they can.

is our day!! Students have all half days that week-we don't, but that's ok since it gives me a chance to do all those end of the year things like files, etc...

Our last day is a full day K-8. 9-12 is half day. K-5 teachers are also "done" on the last day as we have an extra p-t conference. 6-12 teachers have a PIR work day the next day.

We get out an hour early every day next week. By dismissing an hour early we still meet state requirements for minimum school day hours. Then there's a teacher day, but we can leave at 10 am.

Friday is a minimum day (kids leave 2 hours early) but then we have a staff lunch (that some teachers never attend) where we say goodbye to those retiring/transferring. I would rather finish cleaning my room and leave

My last day is Wednesday June 5 with the students...full day....and Thursday is work day for teachers.

Most teachers like having the kids help clean up...just don't be the lucky teacher who the principal visits and finds you not teaching...she will have your head....I mean TEACHING the last day..those kids want no part of anything but going home.. P is such a maniac about this...
