White chocolate chips - is Ghirardelli really that much better?

I keep seeing many recipes that call for white chocolate chips recommending Ghirardelli and saying how it's much higher quality. I'm a big fan of their candy, which is also expensive IMO, but I'm not sure it's worth paying $2 or more extra per bag for the chips. I made peppermint bark brownies last weekend using Nestle white chocolate chips because they were on sale, and it tasted just fine to me.

Nestlé's-yes

Lindt-no

Guittard-no way

Like all things, some people can pick up flavor more than others. I can pick up the taste of artificial flavors in many food items that other people can not.
If you can't taste the difference don't bother getting the higher quality.

I always use the Guittard, they are even cheaper than Nestles.
