Mountain Math/Lang. worksheet-- Help!
Old 07-26-2007, 10:11 PM

Clip to ScrapBook #1

I just happened upon this message board while searching for a Mountain Math/Mountain Language worksheet since mine are missing from my kit (I bought it secondhand). I was able to translate most of the math worksheet from the Spanish one that was included in the kit, and I'm pretty confident that I did most of the Language worksheet correctly... but I have no idea what #7 is supposed to be. I've got the 1st/2nd grade language kit and the 1st grade math kit. If anyone has the worksheet and would be willing to scan/e-mail it to me or just tell me what #7 is, I'd be really grateful!

Thanks!

Becca

I have the grade 3 Mountain Language kit and made up my own worksheet. I'll attach it in case the setup is the same for grade 2. Hope it helps.

Thank you... still no luck on #7 though. The card is just a word- almost all of them are singular, and the concept is "word recognition".

Currently, I use Mt. Math, but have not used Mt. Lang. Do you guys find it is worth the time? Does it take up as much bulletin board space as Mt. Math? This year our team has put a bulletin board up outside of our rooms to share for Mt. Math, so I have some space in my room to use.

It takes up a bulletin board in my room. There are 20 cards to do. I like it a lot though.

I think I might just switch out the cards for Mt. Math with those for Language so I don't have to use 2 separate bulletin boards.

#7 for language is "copy the word and draw a picture of it."

I also attached a copy of the questions that I typed myself - I can't remember if I changed anything...I think the language questions are the same, but I might have adjusted some of the math questions.

Thank you so much! That really helped a lot! I can double-check my Spanish translation skills with your math worksheet too!

Cheresa- I made the "tri fold thingy" for my second grade class. I like that name as well!

I have it if anyone needs me to post it again. It is set up to do 5 or so problems a day. My friend used the same template and made a Mt. Lang. (2nd) worksheet too. I can't get that one until I go back to school at the end of August.

When I use this I have my kids complete about 5 problems a day. We also have "I Can" statements so you will see these on the front. My students are involved in their "I Can" statements so that is for them to record the standard we are learning each week.

When you put this together think of a travel brochure. Copy it back-to-back (Our machine at school will do this for you it is called 2sided to 2sided...this makes it a ton easier). BTW ONLY use the first 2 pages that print...when I saved it I saved an extra page and a blank page or to along with it. Sorry!

Check it out and if you have any questions let me know. I'm glad you liked it from before. I found it much easier to do with second graders than the original long form they provide in the kit!

I just want to say thank you! I took over for a lady who was having a baby. While I was doing my student teaching I learned about Mt. Lang. I put the Mt. Language in place in my classroom. The students love it and it covers so much. I am turning on all the others to it now! Next year, I want to do the math

I was looking for Mountain Language info and found your brilliant trifold idea.
I don;t think we tell each other how brilliant we are often enough. I like folding in general, I like how the days' problems are delineated, and I LOVE the "I Can" idea. Thank you!
