I tried a trial (repeating myself) and loved it. Is there any discount period? It is expensive but has a lot to offer. Does anyone else use it? I can forget my district paying for it.

It is great. My district paid for a district wide subscription for our 1st grade teachers this year. I believe my school will pay for a school subscription next year. New books are added monthly. Everything you need to teach kids how to read.

Would you pay yourself?

I agree it is great. I tried all the different sections - reading, science, vocabulary and liked how they were linked. Would you pay for it if your district didn't pay for it? That is the position I am in. But I am willing because it has leveled books that aren't babyish like our library and I teacher K-5 with kids all over the map as far as reading skills.
Since I am a new teacher, I don't have a lot of material to draw back on.

Yes, I would pay for it.

I am not a 1st year teacher and my district has plenty of resources so I wouldn't. Is it worth the money? I absolutely think it is!

As a first year teacher, maybe even 2nd or 3rd, I'd pay for it myself.

It's pricey but such an asset to have. You can use it to help teaching core concepts and as a progress monitoring tool which can be tricky to find. You're hesitant take the leap! It's worth the money. Check with your principal, pta and even spec ed office to see if anyone would be willing to help with funding.

Thanks for your opinions. At this point, I think I'll see if I am renewed and then buy. Funny how we have to give our letter of intent so early but don't get a job offer until school is over. Not ha-ha funny but weird funny.
