Good Deals

While reading and listening to all the teachers share about sales going on at different stores I thought that we could start an ongoing page where teachers share where they have found good sales in attempt to help us all gather cheap supplies to start off our year!

So far I have heard Walgreens marble mini composition books 6 for $1 and K-Mart 2 prong pocket folders 12 for $1 (posted sales from this week).

Maybe it would also be helpful to mention the state/area just in case the sales are different in different areas.

I found a 30% off one item coupon online for borders. I printed it and bought the Harry Potter boxed set. It doesn't include the latest book, though. Anyway, I paid $35 for the entire set. Normally, each book costs $10-$15.

I think I am the only person on the planet who hasn't read ANY of the Harry Potter books, so I'm taking a couple with me tomorrow to FL and I plan on catching up on some reading by the pool!

I am a Wal-Mart Junkie. They have filler paper 30 cents per pack. Elmer's glue bottles for 17 cents and Elmers 2 pack glue sticks for 20 cents. They also had one subject spiral notebooks for 10 cents and 2 pocket, 3 prong folders for 5 cents.

This is probably the best deal of the week!

Office Max is doing free laminating for teachers on Thursdays only beginning this week and going until Sept 13.

There is no limit to the amount that can be laminated!!

Office max has 1 cent folders. It was a nightmare for me because they didn't want to budge on the 10 limit rule but between two stores I managed to get 40 after walking in an out a few times. Only 2 registers were open or I would have done it more.

The Office Max stores in my area closed a year or so ago. The closest one now is about 50 miles away. I do have many Staples stores and an Office Depot.

These are great ideas! Thanks for sharing.

One more thing that I thought of is Ikea. There is bench/toybox in the kids section for $14.99. It is a nice size and can be used for storage and extra seating in your classroom.

Happy Shopping!

Sass in Class,

The toybox is made of natural wood and what looks like white board (so possible multi use piece of furniture). I do not have one yet, but I plan on purchasing two.
