Clip to ScrapBook #1

Hi everyone! Does anyone out there have a template or a copy of a wanted poster? I am going with a western theme this year. I have put together 3 really cute bulletin boards and decorated my door with the help of oriental and my local teacher supply store. I am planning on taking each child's picture on the first day. They will be wearing the cowboy hats and western vests that they will make. I want to put the pictures in the posters....I thought they would make another cute bboard and a cute momento of the first day......Can anyone help me??
thanks

I don't have a Wanted poaster unfortunately, but I was thinking perhaps you could make one on WORD?? There might also be a font out there that you could download that is similar to the ones on wanted posters. Just some ideas! That's a great theme...Good luck with it!

I'm sorry I don't have one, but last year (different computer) I googled wanted poster and looked in the images. I was able to copy and paste it in a word document. I was able to crop, and clean it up to make my own document. Good luck.

Wanted Poster idea

Unfortunately, I don't have a template either...But, I will share a darling idea that our 4th grade teacher did. She took brown grocery/lunch sacks. She cut out 4X6 rectangles and then stamped the word "Wanted" at the top. Then, she burned around the edges of each one-She will put each child's picture on one the first day. It's in the hall with a sign saying something like, "Wanted-Great 4th grade students who are ready to work and learn!" It is darling!!!! Most of our school is doing a western theme and I think it's by far my favorite one to date!

I have this one. I hope this is what you're looking for.

I am going to attempt an attachment. Wish me luck.

Maddie

I just found out I haven't got enough seniority to make an attachment. If you want the template, post your email address and I will send it.

Thanks for the good ideas everyone. I knew you were the ones to ask.
Maddie C, my email is civey@camtel.net

I would love for you to mail the template to me.
If you are looking for western ideas, try oriental trading co. (www.orientaltrading.com) I ordered 24 foam cowboy hats. These are on my bboard in the hall. I made a cute cowboy and cowgirl at our media center. I found bandana border at a local school aids shop. My caption reads, "Yee Haw! Come on in and hang your hat! Trend had 2 cute bulletin board sets with stick cowboy figures. I bought both and am using them to decorate my cubbies and calendar board. The sets come with several cowboy/cowgirl cutouts, bandanas, and cowboy hats. Each set was $9.99. I bought a couple of straw cowboy hats at a local discount store. I also found old horseshoes, and wooden signs. These are decorating my library area. (oriental sells 12 straw hats for $14.00)
The best find was a really cute boot flag for $21.00. That price included shipping and handling. The website is www.justforfunflags.com
I ordered on a Thurs. and had the flag in the mail on Mon.!!
I found a metal bracket at Target to hang the flag outside my classroom.

I do our Texas, Cowboy theme toward the end of the year. I have brought home the larger size manilla paper and had DH burn the edges in the grill. A little stincky, but really cute after the kids put their pictures on and decorate themselves.

Oops... This isn't the one I made but it looks good. Don't know where it came from. Mine was a bit more simple but included AKA and a place for the kids to put an alias (very cute). I printed the posters on parchment paper so they looked old. I took pictures of each kid (boys and girls) wearing a mustache, bandanna and cowboy hat. The caption said, "Mrs. Trieger's Most Wanted..."

I don't know where I saw this, maybe in a bulletin board book, but there was rope around the bulletin with some red bandana accents - the reading center had big pillows made from denim - that's all I can remember. Also on Education World there was a wanted poster download. Hope this helps!
