Buggy about Bugs

Hi. I'm thinking of a bug/insect theme this year. I'm heading to the teacher store in a couple days to grab stuff for my theme, but don't have a lot of ideas for it. I'm looking for bulletin board titles, behavior board, reading center etc. Anything buggy would be helpful!

I teach 1st grade.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

To encourage good citizenship you can choose a B.U.G. (Being unsually Good) each week.

Just a few ideas...

"Fluttering into first grade"
"Have you heard the buzz?"
"We've been busy as bees "
"Welcome to the hive"

I was going to use bugs in my room and make my reading center a garden... bugs need their flowers!

I just love Kate26's B.U.G of the Week! I hope I can remember that one for next year. Have fun!!!

I did the bug theme a couple years ago with the title" Buggy About 4th Grade". I put the children's names on bugs on the bulletin board and bought anything I could find with bugs.Oriental has some bug items. Also bought some things at the school supply store.

Check out this link. It has good "buggy" sayings for bulletin boards and classroom areas...

Stop by the Dollar Store first, if they have something you want it will save you big bucks. Even Wal Mart is some cheaper.

I did a bug theme last year. I found a really cute stamp at Wal-mart that was fun to stamp the student papers all year.
