Help!! Movie theme question.

Does anyone know where I can buy the walk of fame stars at a resonable price? The cheapest I have seen them are $12 each, that can get pricey with 20 kids in my class.

Or does anyone have any ideas how I could make a walk of fame on the floor in my classroom?

Thanks =)

Hi,
I did the movie theme for the past two years. I didn't do the walk of fame, but, you could do a wall of fame. I found a bunch of stuff at the party supply place. Here it is Party City. I'm not sure if they have it out right now. But, I stocked up around Academy Awards time. Also, Target had plastic popcorn holders that were cute for holding pencils, etc. Feel free to email me if you need anymore ideas.

Thanks I have looked at all the postings from this forum and have gotten lots of ideas.

One problem I have is that I can only cover 20% of the wall space and I only have 2 bb.

I have the red carpet and all the stuff from Party City as well. I am so excited to see it all put together.

Wall of Fame

I did not use stars- sorry not sure where to find them cheap.
I did do a wall of fame though.

I let that be my student of the week display. I took black and red construction paper and fabric paint. Each week I would let the star student make their hand print in paint and place it on a construction piece of paper with a background such as one week it would be a red with black background and the next week it would be the opposite. It looked good and the kids loved getting their handprints done.
Just an idea.

What about taking a piece of black constructin paper, gluing a big gold star on it, and gluing a black and white photo of each student in the middle of the star, then laminate?

Or... you could customize these and print them the size you want -- but that's a lot of ink.

Good luck! I'm doing a hollywood/movie theme also and am really excited about all the ideas this year.

I went to Party City and bought the stars that had famous movie stars on the walk of fame. They came in a big pack and was very reasonable. A lot less than $12.00. I put a white label over the movie star's name and wrote in the student's name. Cute and inexpensive!

I was just now thinking about doing a theme in my classroom and would love to have a movie theme. If you have any ideas to get me started, I would really appreciate it.

Ideas??? I've got a lot of ideas... And almost all have come from this site. I'll attach my list I compiled over the summer. It's about 4 pages long. My room looks cute, cute, cute if I say so myself! I hope my students like it. Look through this attachement (it'll save you time than having to search through all the old threads, but there's probably some ideas out here I missed) and then start at your party supply store. The hollywood stuff will get you started. There's really a lot of creative things you can do with this theme. Good Luck! Let me know if you need some more ideas.

They are in a pack of 10 for $25
Still a little pricey I know but it was what I could find!
Also this site has some pretty good Hollywood themed stuff!

I'll send you pictures at the end of this week. It's cluttered with stuff out of place from the custodians waxing the floors and isn't picture ready yet. I still have a week before I get kids. I was just working on the walls and hallway this week.

thanks for your ideas for the hollywood/movie theme. here's a really cute link for you! I am going to use "reading with the stars" in my reading corner. Print pictures of stars/celebrities reading.
