Clip to ScrapBook #1

Hello all,

I have been teaching Economics, US and AP world history the past couple years but will be adding Government and Policy this upcoming year. Are there any suggested websites, materials, simulations, etc. that you would suggest using?

A more specific question: I will be using a smart board and/or touchscreen lcd TV in my class. Does anyone have suggestions on iPad, Kindle, desktop apps that can be used? Like the program that news stations use to showcase political data and election by state, demographic, etc?

Any info would be great!! Thanks!

I don't have a smart board in my room so I can't be much help in that regard.

However, I definitely love c-spanclassroom, so much great content and a ton of videos. . It doesn't always fit the content and grade level that I'm aiming for but I also like to try and use icivics.org as a launching point and I can fit things to the grade level of my students.

Earlier this year were giving away a big map of the US with thenumber of electoral votes in each state. You could do activities with the election. Best of all, it is free.

If you are talking about the C-SPAN Classroom 2016 Electoral College Map, tctrojan, the second mailing is going to be happening in a few days. They can still be ordered if anyone is interested.
