So, this is my first time posting here. I don't usually come to this board, as I generally avoid conflict in all its forms, but my governor today had me fuming mad and I had to share.

I just moved to Maryland seven weeks ago. I moved from Colorado, which is a state very unfriendly to teachers and teachers' unions right now (well, for the past ten or fifteen years, actually).

I was hoping it would be better here. I think I'm just going to sub this year and check out the landscape. I'm already hired as a sub for MCPS; maybe I'll stop checking the website for teaching jobs. I'm about to retire, anyway.

This is disappointing. Thanks for posting this. This governor sounds like a jerk, a la Chris Christie. Maryland's old governor, Martin O'Malley (is that right?) sounded like a pretty stand-up guy. I'm sorry he's not still around.
