Looking for suggestions/advice to help with a truly gifted 5th grader who quits when the task requires more. In summary, this is what has been tried:
1. Praise
2. Recognition of effort
3. Incentives
4. Explanation as to why the task is relevant to where it may lead or how it affects daily life. Example: math used in daily life.

He has a very high IQ, reading well into college level, can code and write apps, builds robots, etc. Math seems to require more repetition from him than he wants to give.

Any suggestions??

Thank you.

What about grade or subject acceleration. He may know all the information being taught and has a fixed mind set instead of growth mindset. I would also do independent projects but have him sign a contract with a timeline.
