Why not a board showing Good works toward others during Lent, since this is something we strive for during the Lenten season. We do a something like this for Advent. It is called "Let your light shine". I run off different colored Christmas light bulbs and when a child sees someone doing something nice for another in the class, they fill out the bulb and we hang it in the hall on a long piece of garland. Find some type of Lenten symbol and have the kids do the same thing then hang it on the bulletin board.

I painted white paper on our bulletin board a long wavy brown road. I let the kids pick a station, and draw it on a footprint. I have 15 sets of foot prints, if one is not chosen i let whoever wants to do it .

at the end of the path I made a cross out of brown paper and place a purple cloth over it. It is way hard to explain as I sit here imagining it in my head. I will try to find a pic of it I can scan to you if you want.

We all (3rd) made acrosstics with the word lent,
We decorated the big letters like stained glass windows then
pasted our favorite sayings around each letter.
We had some great ones:

Learn to sacrifice
Everyone is a sinner
Never complain of your cross
Thank Jesus for dying for us

Thanks for the information. I teach middle school Relegion and it is sometimes hard to find ideas that I can adapt to a "more mature" level. The street sign etc. will be great. Have a blessed Lent!
