No contract?

I posted on The Vent about the hard time I am having in my new position.

I don't plan on quitting but I feel like I have been set up to fail at my school and just want to keep my options open. My district does not have their teachers sign a contract. Does that mean I can quit at any time? What is the difference if there was a contract to sign? What about t prevents a teacher from quitting mid-year? I called HR myself last week and asked why I haven't signed one and they told me they don't do that in this district...

My district doesn't have us sign a contract either. You may want to check your contract to see what it says about resigning mid-year. It varies from district to district. In mine, it's not a big deal, but some districts will hold your teaching cert until the end of the year. If you have a union, I'd contact them and see what tegu have to say. Frequently they're a better resource than HR.
