Has anyone become an OT or Reading Specialist?

I'm constantly weighing my options for a future Master's degree. I was wondering if anyone has become an OT or Reading Specialist after being a general classroom teacher? I currently have English 7-12 certification and work as an associate teacher in special education. I feel I have a bit of background if I wanted to pursue a Master's in OT or as a Reading Specialist.

I have a K-12 English teaching cert, which really means I can teach 6-12. I got my reading specialist cert to have options outside of the classroom. It was good because I got credit for my masters on the salary guide, but most reading specialist jobs are elementary which I don't really feel prepared for. Now that I've been working with my daughter on her reading and helping with her CCD and girl scouts I am interested in working with that age group in a small group so I'm going to see if I can find a position, but I know I won't come across as strong as elementary teachers.

You need a strong science background for OT. Maybe that's an interest of yours, but I feel it would be a great deal of "catch-up."

My BA is in elementary education while my masters is in reading. I felt that they complimented each other well and I didn't want to get certified in special ed because of all the paperwork.

I took one class a semester and several in the summer and completed the program early.

Was this an online program? Was it costly?
