Which would you recommend? I have been having a tough time in elementary but am certified in 1-6. Thinking of going back and taking MTEL in different subject matter areas.

As a student I hated middle school.

As a teacher I love middle school; the students are able to work much more independently and usually don't have things like sports and jobs that eat up all their time. As a result you can do fun things with the students like singing at the senior (citizen) center or playing bingo after school in the cafeteria. Both are things that the middle school I worked at did.

Additional certifications will only help out to some extent. If you have too many you'll end up with the most fragmented schedule ever. I have two; reading and elementary education. I'm thinking of adding special ed bit that would require me to take some additional classes.
