Teaching a Lesson

In my field placement, when planning my lesson to teach to the class, the teacher i am with wants me to teach the lesson the way she does it. I do not get a chance to create a lesson on my own.
Any suggestions on how to approach my teacher so that i can create my own lesson? Instead of doing it the same as her, like what are some ways i can change it up?

I had the same thing happen to me at my placement and what I did was I talked to my teacher and told her that my professors at my college want me to start to create my own lessons. She completely understood and told me that sometimes she can be too controlling and told me to tell her when she is controlling. Not a big deal at all, a lot of student interns have this situation happen to them.

Thanks for the help. I will defiantly talk to her and see what she says.
It is good to hear that this same thing has happened to other people.
