Does anyone know a site that will look at a text and give you the approximate guided reading level?

Scholastic has the Book Wizard that has a database of books that are leveled. I don't know of any sites where you can put in a passage and find out the guided reading level. You can check the Fry Readability level by googling Fry Readability. That will give you the formula to check the grade level, but I don't think you can get the guided reading level.

There is an app called Lit Leveler that you can purchase. You scan the barcode of the book and it usually tells you the GR level and/or exile level for the book.

you can get a year's subscription to Fountas and Pinnelle's book leveling web site.
http://www.fountasandpinnellleveledbooks.com

They also have an old book (l999) Matching Books to Readers that levels many books published to that point. They set up the subscription service to update the book list (and their income?)

Do you any of sites give the GRL? I am looking for the letter that you find but I am not sure which leveling "system" I am searching for. The fry gives a basic grade level but it seems to vary greatly from other scoring systems. I am not even sure which is most accurate.
