Just had to share somewhere...We're changing some of our curriculum for the upcoming school year, and I just finished putting all of my BJU spelling words into Spelling City! (I've had the same ABeka lists in Spelling City for the past 5 years.)

Just curious, are you switching to BJU English too? We switched from ABEKA English, Spelling and Reading to BJU. I really like the English program. Parents were not sure about the spelling switch as BJU have easier lists but I impressed upon the kids and the parents that BJU is more about applying the spelling for the long term.

That's great! I understand your excitement.
Several years ago, I used a different site and typed in all the lists...and with one stroke, accidentally deleted them all. I never redid it!

We are switching to BJU for all of the language arts--English, reading, and spelling, and we're also switching science. I really like what I see with the English and love that the reading has more emphasis on skills and application. I'm looking forward to the switch. I am curious to see what the parents have to say about the spelling words being easier, but as you say, it teaches more about the rules and less about just memorizing really big words. I think it will really help the students who have struggled with ABeka spelling.

I liked BJU Language Arts (especially first grade) but LOVE their Science.

I like what I see with BJU science, also. There is a much wider range of material in the third grade curriculum than what is in ABeka. I don't necessarily dislike ABeka's science, but I like BJU better. Also, BJU has better materials for 1st and 2nd grade science (history, too, but we didn't make that switch, just because we were trying to not make an across the board change).

I loved the new BJU Science and Social Studies for 1st. It was much easier to use and the topics were more interesting. Have fun with your new books.

I used the BJU materials for Spelling and Reading, but got priced out of the Spelling curriculum. So I found lists (many from Word Their Way) and did what you did with putting them on Spelling City. Glad you've found something that will work for you!
