I have applied to 3 different counties near to my daughter. I want to move to be close to my grandchildren, but need a job first. I just hope they are willing to give a 55 year old teacher a chance.

I recently retired, and am hoping to eventually move to the Nashville area. A part-time teaching job there would be perfect!

If I read the information on their website correctly, you can get a three-year license when coming from out of state. In order to renew it, though, it looks like you have to take the Praxis exam(s). Do you know how they handle out-of-state certification? Is that right?

Good luck with your job search! I'm going to be the same age in a week, and am curious what your experience will be. If you could post some updates, that would be great!

It was relatively easy for me. They took my Indiana license and my coursework and it transferred over. I have a 3 year practitioner license. I took Praxis almost 20 years ago. I submitted those scores. I figure if they aren't happy, they will tell me I need to take them again.

Thanks for the quick response! I haven't taken the Praxis exams, but from what I gather, they're not much fun. At least I'd have some time to prepare.
