Invited to a 2nd Interview

Hi,

I recently went on a group interview for a Physical Ed position consisting of 6 candidates and 4 people on the interview panel. The panel consisted of the Vice Principal, Department Head, and 2 current teachers. I was confident with my interview and believe I was the clear choice from the 5 other candidates. I was called back within 24 hours for a 2nd interview with the principal, and the department head at the end of this week. I was just wondering your thoughts on the situation being that we are entering the last week of July. What I should expect going into hopefully my final interview this week?

I am very excited, but also not assuming anything.

Any thoughts or tips are greatly appreciated.

Thank You!

Congratulations! Have you heard if any other candidates are being brought back for another interview? I'm not sure what the last week of July means where you are. In one of my districts, we would have already started back to work by now. In another, we would have another month. I don't know where your district falls on that spectrum.

I'm not sure what you should expect- if you are the only one they are bringing back, it may be somewhat of a formality. If they picked you and one other, it may be a rigorous personal interview. Did they give you any indication of what to expect? I would come prepared for a rigorous interview, just in case! Good luck! I hope you post good news for us soon!!

(And welcome to PT!!)

Well I was supposed to meet with the principal on Wednesday, but it was rescheduled to Thursday because the department head is out of town until Thursday afternoon so I am assuming I am the only one invited to an interview in the late afternoon. They did not give me any indication on what to bring so I am just bringing my portfolio and copies of my resume/references and lesson plan examples.

Hopefully it all goes well, and thank you for responding.
