How many books do your kids read in one month on average? I am new to fourth and I do not know what a reasonable expectation is.

Thanks for your input!

It depends on the level of the reader.
This chart gives you a good idea of a reasonable expectation

We do a 30 book challenge for the year. So most are reading about 3. Of course some read way more, especially shorter informational texts or shorter chapter books. Then there's the Harry Potter fan who reads only one per month.

Each week, our 4th grade students have to read 2 leveled books and take the AR test for each book. We have an AR party at the end of each 9 weeks for those that met their goal.
