I need advice - how do you handle the child that knows ALL the answers, so starts giving you the wrong ones to try to be funny?

If this happens in a class setting, I would talk to the child privately and explain how this confuses others students. I once had a second grader who blurted out answers all the time. He and I came up with a plan where we would make eye contact and smile or wink, but wait to allow the others think time and a chance to answer. He just needed to know that I knew he knew! It worked well.

I've found that those kids respond well to a private conversation like dutchgirl said, as well as being given some "special" jobs. I tend to tell my smarty pants kids that I will have a job or problem just for them to answer, but it's going to be at the end because I need everyone else to have a chance as well.
