I have just been hired for 3rd grade. The district is giving us $500 to purchase books for our classroom libraries. What are some titles I should purchase, books your children love? Thanks!

Check out Scholastic. Their bundled sets are a good value.

Since you are new to third grade, this board is probably new to you also.

One tip I can give you is anything 1956BD recommends, do it! Fortunately she is very generous with her tips, recommendations, and great resources to use.

However I might take exception to the recommendations for the books Love That Dog and Hate That Cat. HATE That Cat...really?? :-) Actually they both are great!

My students love the "I Survived" books. They always go for them.

The most popular series in my 3rd grade class last year was Weird School.
