Removable names on desks

Does anyone use velcro to stick names to desks? Does it stick to lamination? I have two groups, so need two names on each desk (not looking for the big clear pockets). I'm looking for a way to switch desk names but not have to move the desks around.
Thanks!

Yes, I use Velcro, and have no problem at all with it sticking to lamination. It also sticks to the desks themselves very well... Maybe too well, but I just leave the same Velcro on year after year when I can convince the custodians not to scrape it off over the summer.

It's not a perfect solution, because as you can imagine kids like to make nose with it, but it works pretty well for me.

I use Velcro also. As pp stated, no issues with adhering to lamination.

I use velcro on lamination and it works great, never had a problem with it not sticking and I use the dollar store stuff.

This is the first year I've tried it, but it seems to be working well. I have my own little Scotch laminator and use the 5 mi setting so my name tags are heavier than with the lightweight lamination.

I hate to try things that might not work. I think I'll go for it!

I started using id holders with Velcro as name tags on desks three years ago. I will never use anything else!

So far so good. The name tags still look new. They can take them off to use the number line in other parts of the room, and stick them back on when they're finished. Why didn't I think of this 20 years ago?
